What We're Reading -- "Why America Can't Have It all"

Few American leaders--elected, appointed, and/or in business--think seriously about how and why the United States should act on the future global stage. In this article, Stephen Wertheim does a good job of outlining a realistic way-forward. Because of the article's realism and thoughtfulness, it's unlikely to be considered in a policy environment seemingly beholden to path dependency thinking.

"Going forward, the options are stark: the United States can selectively retrench and control costs and risks, or it can stick with global primacy and lurch from crisis to crisis."

In a hyper-connected and globalized world, has your organization developed a strategy informed by future scenarios and how countries will act in the same? If not, So Little Pains can help.
